🏩 How to Play Flag Rush
Flag Rush is a geography quiz where you race against time to identify country flags. Each round shows you a flag image or emoji and gives you four country name options. Click the correct answer as quickly as possible. You have 60 seconds to score as many correct identifications as you can. Wrong answers subtract 5 points, so accuracy matters as much as speed. The game features flags from over 40 countries worldwide.
Your score is calculated from correct answers minus penalties for wrong guesses. At the end you receive an accuracy percentage and a geography rank (from “Explorer” to “Global Ambassador”). Your rank and score can be shared directly from the results screen.
Tips & Strategies
- Learn flag families: Nordic crosses (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland) all share the same off-centre cross pattern — distinguish by colours.
- Recognise tricolour patterns — France (vertical blue-white-red), Germany (horizontal black-red-gold), Italy (vertical green-white-red).
- Distinctive symbols help: Canada (maple leaf), Japan (red circle), UK (Union Jack), Brazil (globe and stars on green/yellow).
- If unsure, eliminate impossible options first — you often know 2 of the 4 choices are wrong.
About Flag Rush
Vexillology — the study of flags — is one of the oldest forms of cultural identification. Most national flags were designed in the 18th–20th centuries and encode colours and symbols with meaning: red for courage, white for peace, blue for water and sky. Playing flag games has been shown to significantly improve geography recall compared to reading maps passively.
