⌨️ How to Play Keyboard Ninja
Keyboard Ninja is a typing speed and accuracy game. Words fall from the top of the screen toward the bottom. Type each word exactly and press Enter (or Space) to destroy it before it reaches the ground. You have 3 lives — represented by ninja icons — and lose one each time a word reaches the bottom. The game ends when all 3 lives are lost.
Words increase in speed and difficulty over time. Your WPM (Words Per Minute) is tracked throughout the session and displayed at the end. Score is based on words correctly typed. Difficulty levels control starting word speed: Easy uses slower speeds and shorter words; Hard uses fast speeds and longer words. There is also a leaderboard for your personal best WPM scores.
Tips & Strategies
- Use proper touch-typing technique (home row: ASDF / JKL;) — looking at the keyboard breaks your rhythm and costs precious seconds.
- Read ahead to the next word as soon as you finish typing the current one.
- Prioritise words near the bottom of the screen over new ones at the top.
- Type in bursts of confidence rather than hesitating on individual letters.
- On Hard mode, let shorter words fall slightly to buy time for longer, harder words higher up.
Improve Your Typing
Typing speed and accuracy are among the most transferable productivity skills in the digital age. Average typing speed is about 40 WPM; professional typists reach 70–100 WPM; elite competitive typists exceed 150 WPM. Research shows that regular typing games significantly improve muscle memory for key positions, reducing reliance on visual feedback and increasing sustained speed.
