🗺️ How to Play Map Pin

Map Pin is a geography quiz that tests your knowledge of countries around the world. Each round gives you a set of geography clues about a mystery country — continent, climate, neighbours, capital city, and cultural facts. Read the clues carefully, then select the correct country from a multiple-choice list. You have 15 seconds per round. After each answer, a fun fact about the country is revealed whether you were right or wrong.

Scoring rewards both speed and accuracy: answering quickly with the first clue earns more points than waiting for all clues. Your geography rank at the end ranges from “Map Novice” to “World Explorer” based on your total score.

Tips & Strategies

  • Pay attention to the continent clue first — it eliminates 80% of choices instantly.
  • Learn capital cities for major countries — they appear frequently as identifying clues.
  • Memorise neighbours: if a clue says “borders France and Germany”, that’s Switzerland or Luxembourg.
  • Climate clues (tropical, arctic, desert) narrow choices significantly alongside continent hints.
  • Don’t ignore the fun facts after each round — they frequently appear as clues in future rounds.
