🔗 How to Play Word Chain
Word Chain is a fast-paced vocabulary game. The game gives you a starting word. Your job is to type a new word that begins with the last letter of the previous word. For example: cat → tree → elephant → tiger. Each word must be at least 3 letters long, a real English word, and not previously used in this chain. You have 10 seconds per word — the timer bar shrinks in real time. The chain continues until you run out of time or can’t think of a word.
Scoring is based on word length: each word scores 10 points × its letter count. Long words are more valuable than short ones, but they also take more time to type. Your final score and full word chain are displayed at the end and can be shared.
Tips & Strategies
- Learn common letter transitions: words ending in E are easy to chain (energy, earth, elephant…). Words ending in X, Q, or Z are very hard.
- Keep a mental backup word ready for rare ending letters — if you get stuck on X, try “extra” or “excel”.
- Prioritise 6–8 letter words for big scores, but don’t sacrifice too much time hunting for them.
- Common safe words: words ending in N (open, ocean, dragon), R (river, tiger, summer), and T (robot, planet, basket).
